About You & Me

I’m So Glad You’re Here…I’ve Got Something to Tell You

You know how hard it can be to fight the good fight of faith when everyday troubles seem larger than life.

I know what it is to fight against emotional, mental, and spiritual battles–it is from this perspective much of my writing comes.

We’re mothers, ministry leaders, married women, working women…all trying our best to pursue Christ with our busy hearts. But some days, it’s hard–which is why we need each other so much. Dietrich Bonhoeffer explained this perfectly when he wrote,

Therefore, the Christian needs another Christian who speaks God’s word to him. He needs him again and again when he becomes uncertain and discouraged, for by himself he cannot help himself without belying the truth. He needs his brother man as a bearer and proclaimer of the divine word of salvation. He needs his brother solely because of Jesus Christ. The Christ in his own heart is weaker than the Christ in the word of his brother; his own heart is uncertain, his brother’s is sure.

My purpose for this blog, for my books, and for my teaching is this: to be “a bearer and proclaimer of the divine word of salvation” to uncertain hearts.

Do you ever struggle with disbelief, distrust, or disappointing trials in your faith? It’s my aim to {encourage & equip} you in those times.

This website offers a growing collection of articles, printables, and resources designed to help you get through when you’re barely getting by. Ed Welch writes, “Mostly, spiritual power and growth feel like weakness, as if we just barely make it through the day.” It is in these “barely making it” moments that Christ’s power rest upon us in full force. There is much work for him to do in our hearts during those times, but also much labor for us to dirty our hands with.

Indeed, I want to encourage you with the comfort of Christ while equipping you to take your next steps toward growing in Christ-likeness.

Would you like to be on journey with me during this season? There are many ways we can link up arms to support each other–you can receive my weekly Scripture phone lock screens and encouragements through email, connect with me on Facebook, or connect on Instagram. However you choose to connect, I would love to hear more about who you are and how I might be able to pray for you. Click one of the boxes below so we can get to know each other better.

Statement of Faith (The Nicene Creed)

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.

Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.

And I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
